The first novel in the Girl Submerged trilogy launches on May 29. I chose that date as it is the full moon, and one day after my birthday. Recently I have realized May 29 is also the beginning of Galungan, an islandwide ceremony here in Bali celebrating the victory of good over evil, and a time when the ancestors visit. Not only that, May 29 is Vesak Day (Waisak in Indonesia), honoring the Buddha's birth, enlightenment and death which all occurred on the same day. What an auspicious day to birth my book into the world!
